FAQ

Is a deposit anonymous?

No. The depositor signs it, and the amount that enters the treasury is public. Privacy is the missing link between that deposit and a later withdrawal.

Can I deposit any amount?

Yes, up to the cap stored on that asset’s tree. The amount is an integer in base units. There is no denomination menu.

Can I withdraw part of a note?

Yes. The remainder becomes a change note. The recipient receives the withdrawn amount minus the relayer fee and the platform fee.

Why did the recipient get less than I sent?

The withdrawal fee is deducted from the withdrawn amount. Deposits are not charged a protocol fee. A quote shows the recipient amount before you sign.

Are SOL and USDC in the same anonymity set?

No. Each asset has its own tree. A withdrawal can only spend a note from that asset’s tree.

Does Veilix swap tokens?

No. A note withdraws as the same asset it was deposited in.

What is the VEILIX token here?

VEILIX is one of the assets with a shielded tree, alongside SOL, USDC, wBTC, and wETH. Holding VEILIX inside the pool is the same kind of note as holding SOL inside the pool. This book does not describe a separate staking or governance schedule.

Can the team spend my note?

Not without the note. The configuration authority can change fee wallets and deposit caps. It cannot compute your nullifier.

Can a relayer steal the withdrawal?

A relayer can refuse to submit it. A relayer cannot point a completed proof at a different recipient. If a relayer stalls, the note is still unspent and another relayer can take a new proof.

What if I lose the note?

If it was sealed, scan with the same wallet. If it was not sealed and you have no copy, the value cannot be withdrawn. See Note Security.

Do old fixed-size notes still work?

No. Only vx2 notes spend on the current program.

Is there a privacy score?

No. Decide based on how unusual your amount is and how many other notes are in that asset’s tree. Unusual amounts are easier to correlate.

Does the recipient need a Veilix account?

No. They receive a normal balance of that asset.

Which clusters exist?

Mainnet and devnet. Devnet indexing is https://api3.veilixprotocol.com.
